Sunny again...

After leaving Wellington 10 days ago we had a great ferry ride to the south island. Great sounds to see there. From Picton we drove to Marahau, the start of the Abel Tasman Track. We arrived late and almost didnt find our hostel in this very small town. The next day we started a 3 day walk up the Abel Tasman NP. Just beautiful. But also very exhausting when walking 10hrs a day. From the north we took a water taxi back to Marahau. It was a funny ride because of the rough sea. I, Tina, had to concentrate very much to not get seasick:)
After that we drove all the way to Punakaiki where we stayed in a very cute little hostel. BTW, I had to concentrate again. In Punakaiki are the Pancake Rocks which are really fascinating. Then we drove on to Greymouth which is not interesting at all. We had the BEST coffee in town and this was really not GOOD. But the hostel was also very nice. If just the city had been... In the hostel they had sauna, kayaks and really great interior...the name was Global Village...
Then we headed to the Fox Glacier where we did a half day tour on the ice. And we wrote a rhyme, but only in german and you can read it in the last post. On the ice our guide found an icecave and we could slide through it. She said it was the coolest thing she ever found on a half day tour. Afterwards we were heading to Wanaka and then Queenstown where the weather was already a little bit better than on the west coast but still a little rainy. But nevertheless we did some hiking. Thats what we came for, ay. <-- Kiwi english!!
But now finally we found the sun again. We were heading to Dunedin today, two days earlier than expected because we couldnt do the Kepler Track because of heavy rain and thunderstorm. Here we will watch the penguins and sea lions tomorrow, yeah.
